If all goes to plan I hope to visit Hay in March or April. Would I be
allowed to visit the register office in Hay and view records?
I also hope to visit St Mary's in Hay.
Finally, and most importantly...is there a good pint of stout to be had in
the town?

Dear Kevin,

I make several pilgrimages to Hay-on-Wye every year to visit the bookshops.

There is a good selection of excellent pubs in Hay so I'm sure your thirst
will be satisfactorily quenched.

Unfortunately, In England and Wales the civil registers of births marriages
and deaths are not open to public inspection. You have to buy a certified
copy of a specific individual entry in order to examine its details. The
current cost is £7 per certificate.

You'll need to check whether and when St Mary's Church is open. For access
details, see http://www.churchinwales.org.uk/swanbrec/churches/hay/5833.html

Enjoy yourself!

John
