I know the feeling well, Alison. Just a few years ago I spent a week's
holiday driving around Montgomeryshire and Merioneth searching out old
family homes.
I started with my Great Great Grandfather's final farm and worked backwards
datewise. On about the third I found myself driving down a lovely country
lane and arriving in the farm yard feeling very foolish!
I got some lovely pictures though and the greeting I got from almost all the
farms that I visited was just wonderful. Mind you, I think it might have
helped that we were driving around in my cousin's car that has a local
license plates.
