Hello bj

Yes - I'm still out here, looking and contributing when possible.

I can confirm that according to the 1881 census, my Charles Ashton,
(15/2/1824) an ostler from Trefeglwys, aged 58 was married to Anne, nee
Humphreys, 54, from Llanidloes. (Married 25/12/1848, Llanbrynmair). They
lived at Lower Farm in the parish of Tredegar with their daughters:- Anne
28 Dressmaker b. Tredegar
Hannah 25 Chaffcutter " (Deaf)
Mary Jane 21 Farm Servant "
Elizabeth 18 Scholar "
Sarah 15 " "
Thomas 4 Bedwellty

Although Thomas was listed as son of Charles & Anne, he was actually the son
of Anne the dressmaker and my grandfather.

I have been unable to find out what happened to my g grandmother or any of
her sisters - still searching for clues.

Best wishes

Margaret
