Hi everyone,
Gary thanks for the information I will take a look and see if I can get
anything to match, and thanks for trying to see what you can find. Do you
think that Wisconsin would have a birth certificate on George Washington
Prater from 1854?
Also Gary and anybody who may know there is a possibility that George passed
away in South Dakota for his wife Carrie Louise Prater passed 2/2/1934 in
South Dakota, town unknown. It seems that this family grew once in SD which I
have a decent amount of information, I do have some obituaries etc that I will
try to post to all this weekend.
I will end this post with the obituary of Floyd Raymond Prater (his father
was George Washington Prater)
Floyd Raymond Prater was born in Muscoda, WI, November 3rd, 1878. He moved
with his parents to Bowden, Iowa in October 1887 where he lived until his
marriage July 16, 1900 to Miss Minnie Cornish at Heron Lake, Minn. In
September 1904, he with his family moved to Faulk County, SD where he resided
until his death which occurred at his home south of Seneca, SD October 11th,
1918. He leaves to mourn his loss a wife and eight children, his parents two
sisters and two brothers.
So it sounds like his parents George and Carrie were still alive in 1918.
Well, thanks to all and I will help whenever I can. Have a great weekend.
