Over 20 years ago, I made a tape of my grandmother telling me of my family
history. I was doing geneology back then but had gotten as far as I could and
set it done. I picked this back up a couple of years ago, but was still stuck
on my g-grandfather. I had even doubted that the name that my grandmother had
given me was correct.

Well, I posted my information on Martin Poole PRATER (b about 1846 TN), son of
Josiah PRATER (b1803-04 NC) and Sarah Elizabeth HARPOOLE (b about 1804) and
several people helped me take my PRATERS way back to England in the 1500s or
so. Gary Benton PRATHER, Randy Jones, Sandie Williams Prater, Bob Prater,
Cynlouth and many others all jumped in to point my in directions to obtain
documents on my family. The computer and the teamwork on lists like this one
have made networking and information readily available. I have met so many
cousins thru this list and others that I am on.
