Commodore Edward Preble (1761-1807) had only 4 grandchildren, 3 females and 1 male. His grandson, Lt Cmdr Edward Earnest Preble (1842-1881), had no children so his "Preble" line ran out. On the female side, 1 granddaughter died young, one married Edgar Tucker (1857) and the other married William Henry Anderson (c. 1860) Any direct descendants of the Commodore surviving today would be in either the "Tucker" or the " Anderson" lines.
