Searching for any information on Henry Mueller b. March 24, 1836 in Keim,
near Coblenz, Germany, came to America on the ship Republic in 1853. His
parents were Joseph Mueller and Elizabeth Schier who remained in Germany I
believe. He had two brothers Bernard and Sebastian who also came to America
and resided in Grant County, WI for some time. His two sisters (first names
unk. married Fred Macke and Theodore Stener.
Henry married Mary Sery, February 23, 1863 in Glen Haven, WI. They traveled
often between Iowa, Minnesota and Wisconsin. They died in WI.
They had 16 children of which only four lived to adulthood: Louissa, Laura,
Anna and Henry. The family was Lutheran.
Henry was in the civil war in Company C, 2nd Wisconsin Infantry. He joined
April, 1861 and was injured in August of the same year, receiving his
dishcharge papers in November 1861.
I especially am interested in finding out about his parents. Also, if
someone knows the best place in Germany to send for records, both civil and
Lutheran churches for Keim or Coblenz, please let me know. Anne (-:
