You have to look at ALL ships arriving that date, not limiting your search to
ships from Germany. I found my Russian grandmother on a ship from Liverpool,
and her brother a few years earlier on one from Glasgow and Moville. Don't
assume your ancestor got on a ship directly from Germany. They could have
taken the first ship out as long as it was taking them closer to their
destination.
