Subject: SPL closure
Date: Wed, 13 Sep 2000 11:23:29 -0700 (PDT)

Yesterday I heard a news item about the closure of the SPL Main Br. of
the Seattle Public Library. Their plans for it's replacement seem to
be completed.

If I heard correctly, they will close in June of 2001, for three weeks.

They will re-open at WestLake Center, with fewer books on the shelves,
where they will be for about two years while a new building is built.

Word is, due to space limitations fewer books will be on the 'open'
shelves, though all current books will still be available on request.

Hope this info is helpful.
