Patria R. "Taty" Serrano, 68, of Vineland died Sunday, Nov. 14,. 2004, at the South Jersey Healthcare Regional Medical Center in Vineland.

Born in Maricao, Puerto Rico, Patria had lived in Vineland for the past 55 years. She was a retired seamstress and worked for numerous clothing companies, Crown Clothing Co., American Sportswear, Tursini Bros. and Newell Clothing Co. for more than 40 years. Patria was a member of the Immaculate Heart of Mary Parish in Vineland. She also was a foster parent for 10 years and enjoyed sewing, cooking, gardening and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She also was an avid reader.

Survivors include her husband of 49 years, Hector Manuel Serrano of Vineland; three sons, Jose Serrano of Cherry Hill, Hector Serrano Jr., of Vineland and Eliezer Serrano of Woodbury; three daughters, Iris Serrano of Rosenhayn, and Lillian and Aida Serrano, both of Vineland; two brothers, Miguel Gabriel Rivera of Bronx, N.Y., and Rene Rivera of Puerto Rico; 10 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday at the DeMarco-Luisi Funeral Home, 1019 E. Landis Ave., Vineland. Burial will follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery. Friends will be received from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
