Wow. Thank you for all this information. My great uncle was from Ponce, and all I know about him is that his tombstone says "STAFF SGT 207 INF," that he died March 14, 1945, that he is listed as "DNB", and that he apparently wasn't buried in New York until 1948. We've been trying for quite a while to figure out what really happened to him.
