Rhoda K. Scofield, 84, formerly of Harveys Lake, died Friday, Oct. 14,
2005, at the Parkhouse-Providence Pointe, Royersford.
Mrs. Scofield was born in Wilkes-Barre, May 22, 1921, and was a daughter of
the late James and Rhoda (Ell) Ziegler. She had resided at Barnesville and
the Back Mountain area and most recently, for the last six years, at
Lansdale. She was employed by Boscov's Department Store, Reading, as an
Associate Fashion Coordinator retiring in 1973. She was a former member of
the Alderson United Methodist Church, Harveys Lake, and was a member of the
Order of the Eastern Star, Mahanoy City.
Her husband, Leon, died in 1989.
Surviving are her son, James R. Scofield and his wife, Christine, Spring
City; grandchildren, James Jay, Allison and Jennifer; and a great-grandson,
Zachary Reid Scofield.
Funeral service will be held Monday at 11 a.m. from the Curtis L. Swanson
Funeral Home, Inc., corner of state Routes 29 and 118, Pikes Creek, with
the Rev. W. William Kennard, retired, officiating. Interment will be in the
Chapel Lawn Memorial Park, Dallas Township
There will be no calling hours.
The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be sent
to the American Heart Association, 71 N. Franklin St., Wilkes-Barre, PA 18701.
