I've checked both Dominik and Jakub's SS applications; the results
were a generic "Poland". What I have done, is wrtten to NARA-Great
Lakes Region for Jakub's Dec of Intention. Maybe that will clear it
up. My mom was told they were from somewhere near Warsaw. Suchy Grono
is closer to Warsaw then Suchy Grunt. My grgram's naturalization
papers filed 1944, confirm this for his place of birth. However, my
grgramp's naturalization papers filed 1922, say Suchy Grunt. He may
have been living in the later when he left Poland, but wasn't born
there as I found no Skorupa in Suchy Grunt Catholic Church birth
records. I've not tried finding living people in Poland before. I
suppose there is always the possibility that they may have come after
the war, but doesn't seem likely as surely someone would have
mentioned it by now!
I have tried to determine Provinces for these to towns through
PolandGen pages without much success. Any help in that area would be
most appreciated.
Gratefully,
Linda
