Hello Everyone,

These obituaries have been posted to the Poland Border Surnames-OBITUARIES mail list from 10-22 through 11-01. It covers Digests 63 through 68.

As an added tool for our members, I have begun to add the surnames of the mothers of the deceased. I thought it may also help our members in finding cousins. In one instance the obituary lists the great grandfather of an infant who passed away. I also am listing the spouse's maiden names if they are of Eastern European origin. If there are no people searching for the individuals we list, I think that someday someone may be able to find them.

This week a very kind person in Connecticut found two obituaries for me at the Connecticut State Archives. As the result of this, I now have a cousin's maiden name. There are only 4 people in Connecticut with her married name. I have prepared letters to be sent to all of them. In the obituary I also learned that her father's sister was married to a CLOSKEY and was living in Florida in 1982, at the time of his death. There are only 4 people listed in Florida with that name, and I have already written them. I was not able to locate her listed on an SSDI, so I'm hoping she may still be alive, especially since she was born in Poland. We are hoping she can answer some questions for us on our family. She may be the last remaining immigrant from Poland in our family. I'm still trying to find the descendants of everyone in our family who left Poland. We are up to 25 family members as to this date. One went to Uruguay, one to Canada and the balance to the US.

Next type in the surname(s) you are searching one at a time. Click on enter each time you try to locate a new one. This will produce a clickable link for all the obituaries posted with each of these names. If you click on the word "Full" under the surname, it will give you the letter with the complete obituary. This type of search includes the names in the body of the letters also, not just the subject line. Sometimes it takes a few days for these to appear in the archives, so if it is not there when you look one, please wait a couple of date and recheck.

We are now receiving obituaries from Buffalo, NY, Canada, NW Indiana, Metro Toledo,OH area, Northwest Ohio, Southeast Michigan, Wilkesbarre and Scranton, Pennsylvania. If anyone would like to contribute to the list, please let me know which areas you would like to cover so we do not have duplications. If anyone would like to volunteer to cover your area for posting obits, please contact me so we can list your area as being covered.

If they are, they will state their relationship in a specific obituary that they post. The obituaries are posted as information only to aid us in finding living cousins, who may have more information to aid us in our personal research, and to assist in renewing family relationships.
