I don't believe that the Greek Orthodox Church ever made inroads to
establish a church in the Ukraine lands.

There is however, a Greek Catholic Church (previously called "Uniate",
presently called "Byzantine Catholic" in the Western Hemisphere), which
is a rite of the Catholic Church of Rome. It is observant of Orthodox
traditions but recongizes the primacy of the Pope in Rome. This was a
"spin off" of Orthodox congregations from the region in the late 1500's,
the Unions at Brest and Uzhorod. Read more here:
