Hi!
Could someone direct me as to where or who I can get in touch with about a legal name change. I have run across one of my ancestors who was baptized with the last name of his father but joined the war and married under his mother's surname. This man was an illeg. child. I was wondering if he changed his last name legally and where I might find the information. If there was a name change it had to be in Montreal.
