Bev, I nearly fell off my chair reading this! I am so thrilled-thank you
very, very much for finding it for me! Here again is an example of creative
spelling! No wonder genealogy is so difficult, eh? Somehow I suspect my own
father may not even have known his dad had a first wife. He was so quiet
about his life and his family and, of course, grandpa Rudolph died about 30
years before I was born. It is interesting to see that both his wives are in
the R.C. cemetery. I am still looking for poor Rudolph's death and grave. My
dad *did* say that he died "around the beginning of WWII", which would have
been 1914 in Canada, I believe. And you know? If he had not had the unusual
name of Rudolf/Rudolph, I never could have found him at all? It simply is
not a Norwegian name!

I shall never understand how my dad was a Christian Brother in Montreal for
21 years (Brother Marcellus Flavian, 1901-1923) and yet somehow never said
even one word when I entered the convent. I would never have found out had I
not voiced my suspicions to a dear Holy Names nun-friend whose dad was
taught by mine in Montreal. I only learned the details by emailing the top
guy on the Christian Brothers web site.

Again, thank you! You have given new hope to my search!

Kay
