Is anyone by chance working on these families?
My grandfather John Munroe Martin's first wife was Helen Jennie McDonald.
I don't have her parents' names. There are two possible sisters mentioned
in the Sherbrooke Record, one of whom, Katie Agnes, daughter of Mr. & Mrs.
M. McDonald died at 25 in 1901 in Martinville of consumption. Another,
Effie McDonald, died in 1901 at Bishop's Crossing (Bishopton?) leaving two
small children, one less than a week old. She was the wife of A.L. Gilbert.
Jennie died at 38 in 1899 in Martinville, also of consuption.
An uncle, born in 1901, son of my grandfather's second wife, recalled
visiting "grannie McDonald" up the hill in Martinville - the "grannie"
must have been Jennie's mother.
There was also a Danie McDonald, no age given, of Bishop's Crossing who
drowned at Springfield, Mass in 1899. The remains were brought hopme for
intermwent at Lingwick. John Munroe Martin and Jennie McDonald were living
in Springfield at that time, when their two sons were born in 1889 and 1893.
There are other Martin/McDonald connections to Springfiwled, and to
Oakland and Glendale, Calif.
