My ancestors Thomas Tunbridge and William Beane, both Quakers, were
imprisoned a number of times in horrific conditions in Dover Castle between
1656 and 1684, but I can find no record of Dover Castle in that period.
I found the details of their imprisonment in the book 'Sufferings of Early
Quakers' and I would be most grateful if anyone could point me in the right
direction to find out more.
Joan.
