Thought I'd pass along this message about the possible parentage of Sarah
ANTRIM. She was the wife of Rev. Thomas BEALS....

Hi, JTR. I dropped by your Quaker Corner since both my husband and I have
Quaker ancestors. Alas, my Orange Co. North Carolina FREEMAN family and his
Dutchess Co. New York DOTY family don't seem to intersect with yours.
However, I was drawn to your question of Sarah Antrim/Ankrom question since
on another line I am researching the WELLS family which intermarried into
the ANKROM family several times. I have an article "Early American Wells"
from the publication "The Wells Chronicles" Vol. 3, No. 3, July - September
1990, p. 265-269 which discusses the descendants of Thomas Wells d. 1717 of
Prince George's Co., MD. His son, Nathan Wells b. cir 1695 m. 13 Dec 1716 in
PGC Mary Duckett, dau of Richard and Charity (Jacob) Duckett. They had a
son, John Duckett Wells b. 2 Jan 1733 in PGC, who with an unknown wife had
Thomas Wells b. c. Oct 1751 who married Sarah Ankrom and Martha Wells who
married John Ankrom, son of Richard Ankrom and Elizabeth Duckett. I don't
know if this is the marriage which you were referring to. They did have a
daughter, Sarah, but this Sarah's GRANDFATHER, John Duckett Wells, was born
in 1733 about ten years after your Sarah! This article doesn't have any
information about the other Wells/Ankrom marriage you listed but the Wells
and Ankrom families moved West together into western Pennsylvania and the
panhandle area of Virginia. Furthermore, there is no indication that they
were Quakers. However, Thomas Wells d. 1717 had a son Joseph Wells who is
thought to be the Joseph Wells who with his wife Margaret was received as a
convert into the Fairfax Virginia MM 29 May 1746, later of the Cane Creek MM
in North Carolina (the same MM as my Freemans!). Since your Ankrom/Wells
sources don't give any dates I think it's very likely that they are way too
late to be correct. My bet is that your grandparents are cousins <G>.

Patricia
