I am addressing this to the list because the information might interest
others. What I have is a little later than the dates indicated in Marty's
message but I am sure there is a connection.

I have a copy of a marriage certificate (my brother has the original)
between Isaac Coates and Sarah Ann Richards. They were Quakers of the
West Chester MM. Dated 1837 and on it are the signatures of about sixty
people. Among them are HANNAH HOOPES, ELIJA HOOPES, MARGARET HOOPES,
MARY J. HOOPES, ALBERT HOOPES, CAROLINE HOOPES, LEURS P. HOOPES, and
ALFRED HOOPES.

IF anyone is interested I can email the full transcript of the certificate
and or just the list of names. Anyway it demonstrates that at least some
Hoopes were Quakers.

I don't recognise any of the other names other than Warrilow. Some of
those married into the Mendenhall line who were Quakers.
