TV Alert for QUAKER-ROOT List Members:

For those of you with American Movie Classics, look out for Friendly Persuasion which
will be broadcast on Sunday, March 2 at 5:15 p.m. EST and again at 11 p.m. EST.

This is a beautiful movie which portrays mid-West Quaker life at the outbreak fo the
American Civil War. For those of you who have never seen it, it stars Gary Cooper,
Dorothy, McGuire, and Anthony Perkins. The original book was written by Jessamyn West,
an excellent novelist who was also a Quaker.
