Hey fellow Quaker researchers,
I have some other disturbing news about this topic. Last summer my
girlfriend took a trip to MO to see some family and do some research. When
she was there she went to the courthouse to get death certs. and when she got
them and saw different names on them than what she had known them to be she
mentioned this to the girl working there. This is the scary part. The worker
told her that she could change the information contained on the death cert.
just by filling out a form. Once this is done any future researchers would
now find what it had been changed to, not what the original document stated.
She was good though and did not change them. Just another thing to watch out
for in your searches.
