For what it's worth --
The burial ground outside of Mt. Pleasant is the Short Creek
burial ground. Short Creek MH used to stand there. Members at Mt.
Pleasant were also buried there.
This site was used by Wilburites, Hicksites, and Gurneyites for
many years. The Wilbur and Gurney meetings were very small by the
Civil War, but they did not want to hand over the property to the
Hicksites. In 1872 the Hicksites built their MH near Emerson
(SCQM 11-16-1872), which meant that only the Gurneyites had any
interest in the Short Creek property. The Wilbur particular
meeting was laid down about 1863.
The Wilbur meeting now calling itself Short Creek was
historically called Harrisville.
