Hi folks -

I "re-joined" this list today with a specific hope to obtain more information
on my (4) great grandparents, Edward and Mary Robinson Stabler. They were
Quakers, with Edward Stabler being born in York County England and emigrating,
in 1753, to this country from Leak Meeting House, Boston, Lincolnshire,
England. He and Mary Robinson were married at Providence Meeting House,
Chester County, PA on 03 November 1757.

He is identified as "a Quaker druggist, (and) purchased a 12 acre tract west
of New Town in Petersburg in 1757" according to Richard Jones' history
"Dinwiddie County, Carrefour of the Commonwealth". One daughter, Mary (my
ancestor), married Mahlon Hough at Fairfax Meeting, Fairfax/Loudoun County, in
1782 while another daughter, Anne, married John Hough, brother of Mahlon.
These two Houghs were sons of John Hough, Jr. who established Corby Hall in
Loudoun County, VA after removing from Bucks County, PA to VA circa 1743.

Edward Stabler died 23 June 1785 and his wife died 30 Dec 1780. Both deaths
were in Petersburg and both were buried at Gravelly Run Meeting - Friends
Cemetery. It appears, at some point, he had donated the property for the
Gravelly Run Meeting House - wherever that was/is.

In August, returning from some R & R in Virginia, I made a sponteneous "on
site" stab at trying to locate Gravelly Run Meeting House whereabouts without
no success. I did alot of tracking/back tracking from I-85/Boynton Plank Road
along White Oad Road to Five Forks and around Quaker Road (Rt. 660) and
enjoyed the sleuthing, but came up empty - with local residents friendly, but
not helpful.

So - if any of you might assist, I'd greatly appreciate.
