Christine, I found this info re Isaac Thompson in the FRIENDS OF ILLIANA
1826 published by IGHS Library - Vermilion County, Illinois
Vermilion MM birth and Death records pg 92

THOMPSON
Isaac b. 6-18-1806
Hannah b. 9-22-1811 (1812)
ch: Sarah b.3-2-1829 d.3-13-1853
Jonasb.1-28-1831
Maryb.3-8-1833
Lydiab.3-7-1835
Susannah b.2-21-1837
Mercer B.b.10-6-1840 d.11-22-1860
Josephb.10-12-1842
Zimri L.b.3-8-1845
Josephine b.9-11-1848 d. 10-8-1850
Hannahb.11-5-1851
Isaac Newton b.9-13-1854

Hannah is mentioned in the Elwood MM records pg. 183 from 12-13-1861 until
5-30-1868 when Hannah and family gct Ash Grove MM. She is also listed with
her children in the birth and death records on pg 140 where it states she is
the Widow of Isaac but cannot find the death date for Isaac.

This may be the clue to his death.

from the Verm MM rcds. pg 44
11-4-1826 Isaac to attend opening of meeting at Lower settlement to be named
Hopewell.
Lydia appt to attend opening meeting at Hopewell (who is this Lydia? sis?)
7-5-1828 Isaac announces intent to marry Hanna Brown
9-5-1828 Isaac married Hanna Brown
2-6-1836Isaac, Hannah, Sarah, Jonas, Mary, Lydia gct Bloomfield
9-7-1837 Isaac gct Bloomfield
5-5-1855 HANNAH, ch: Lydia, Susannah, Mercer, Joseph, Zimri, Hannah and Isaac
Newton rocf(received on certificate from) Bloomfield....this indicates to me
that Isaac had probably died and Hannah brought the children and came back to
the Vermilion Monthly Meeting.

Hope this helps. Marilyn in Ocala

I have learned since posting that Isaac was apparently, the son of Joseph
Thompson and Rachel (Ball?).
Children known to belong to this couple were, Isaac, Farlin, Pierce, Joseph
Jr., Hannah & Samuel. The IGI lists more children.
As far as I know the members of this family were in Ohio in 1837.
Does anyone have Joseph and Rachel?
Thanks,
Christina
