Hello List Members
I am hoping someone on this list can help me with this question. As I see
the names that come across of people working on their Quaker families, I
am trying to understand why so many of the same surnames are showing up in
our little corner of Limestone Co. TX.. My 3rd Great Grand Father was
Samuel Washington Lindley who at this point I have no proof of what Lindley
family he fits into. He has always been placed in the John & Sarah Pyle
Lindley family & this is the only group of Lindleys I ever find him around.
His children & grand children married into so many names that all of you
are searching. To name a few
Hadley/Baldwin/Murray/Tolbert/Martin/Kelton/McGill/Starks/Gibson/Little/Irvi
ne/Ingle/Collard/Roberts/Thomas/Davis, then you get into the people who
were the neighbors of the above descendants:
Reeves/Cox/Richardson/Carlisle/Goodwin/Hughes/Hyden/Finch/Ferguson/Starks/Th
ompson/Crews/Stephenson/Lloyd/White/Hudson/Wills/Johnson/Taylor/Lewis/Ingram
/Frazier/Holland/Barnett/Sherrod/Sanders & I could just keep going with
names in the community.
Why or how could this happen without some connection from the past. So many
of the same Quaker related names & this group was out of the Quaker faith
as early as 1800 but still the same surnames together. These are names that
are married into or close neighbors of my Lindley/Sadler/Hadley family in TX.
Can some help explain this.
Thank You
Pat Oates in TX.
