According to early Catholic Records for the Tombigbee area, (1790's), there
were alot of Anabaptists. The Quakers were a part of this group. However, I
can't tell you whether these Anabaptists were Quakers, Mennonites, or what.
All I know is they started arriving here during the American Revolution and
were given the name of "Loyalist's" because they refused to fight the
British. However, thier religion prevented this, not their national believes.
