The discussion on the Civil War has been quite interesting and there are
still several opinions as to the reason behind the war. It really doesn't
matter what made up the Union or Confederate Armies. Whether there was
drafting or not. The fact remains that for the South, States Rights were the
issue, and Pres. Lincoln swore to keep the Union United. The North prevailed
because of its natural resources and abundance of men. The North also won
because the Lord would not have allowed this nation to falter. Now enough of
the bickering and lets get down to business.

I've done a lot of research and have come up empty. I'm looking for a
William Morlan/Moreland/Morland that was born in KY in 1805. His father's
name was also William. It is William Sr's family that we need to find. As
yet all aspects of them has been left hollow you could say. I have no wife
for William JR and quite frankly am starting to wonder if this family is even
related to the Morlan/Moreland's Quakers in VA. It appears that this family
lived in VA, Goochland is a strong possibility but no direct links have been
found. The Quaker Encyclopedia's have stopped way before either of these two
were born. Census records all but make them non-existant. I need everyone's
help in trying to find this lineage. The Migration route follows something
like this; Virginia - North Carolina - Tennessee/Kentucky - Ohio - Michigan
- possibly Illinois - Missouri - Kansas - Oklahoma and then some to Colorado.
William JR may have had at least one brother by the name of Jacob. I have
William JR buried in East Purdy, Barry County, Missouri in 1885. He would
have been 80 years old. If anyone at all can help it sure would be
appreciated.

Thanks,
Bill
