Hi List: Judy Ardine asked for some information on the EYRE family from
Hopewell Friends History book yesterday. Because of the number of names
mentioned I decided to answer here, also, in case someone might recognize one
of their ancestors. ALSO--just before Christmas someone else asked for
information on their family which I promised to get together. Now I cannot
figure out who it was. So sorry--if you write me back I will get it looked
up for you. I think I contacted everyone else who asked.

Judy--here are the mentions of the Eyre/Eyer/Ayers I found in the Hopewell
book. Most had to do with signing at various weddings, usually by Ann Eyre
though sometimes others went with her.

Robert and Mary Eyre signed at the wedding of Thomas WILSON and Jane REES,
4th day, 9th month, 1783 at Hopewell.

Anne Eyre signed at the wedding of Richard BARRETT and Sarah GEORGE, 12th
day, 5th m, 1785 at Hopewell.

Ann signed at the wedding of Thomas GREGG and Sarah COULSON, 10th day, 11th
m, 1785, at Hopewell

Ann signed at the wedding of David PAINTER and Martha FAULKNER, 8th day, 2nd
m, 1786 at Middle Creek.

Ann and Hannah signed at the wedding of James SIDWELL and Amy LONG, 11th day,
5th m, 1786 at Hopewell.

Mary, John and Hannah signed at the wedding of Hugh SIDWELL and Mary
HASTINGS, 7th day, 5th m, 1786, at Middle Creek.

Ann signed at the wedding of Samuel ELLIS and Keziah WORREL, 21st day, 5th m,
1788 at Middle Creek.

Ann signed at the wedding of Levi SMITH and Alice PAYNE, 4th day, 6th m,
1789, at Hopewell.

Ann signed at the wedding of Jonathan LONGSTRETH and Phebe REES, 16th day,
8th m, 1792, at Hopewell.

Ann signed at the wedding of Richard FOLLIS and Phebe DILLON, 16th day, 5th
m, 1798, at the "meeting house on the Ridge."

Ann signed at the wedding of William HYATT and Elizabeth THOMPSON, 12th day,
12th m, 1798 at a "Public Meeting of Indulgence in the County of Frederick."

Ann and Sarah signed at the wedding of Asa HOGE and Mary GRIFFITH, 11th day,
12th m, 1799, at Lower Ridge.

Ann signed at the wedding of William WALKER and Martha FAULKNER, 5th day, 3rd
m, 1800, at a "public assembly at the schoolhouse near Joseph Hackney's"
(Note: this seems to be where the Lower Ridge Meeting was at least at this
time).

Ann signed at the wedding of John GRIFFETH jr. and Rachel HACKNEY, 15th day,
4th m, 1801 at Lower Ridge.

Ann and Sarah signed at the wedding of Joseph HACKNEY jr. and Lydia SIDWELL,
12th day, 6th m, 1805, at the "meeting and schoolhouse near Joseph Hackney's."

Sarah signed at the wedding of Jacob REES and Ruth SIMMONS, 8th day, 11th m,
1809 at Lower Ridge.
