In response to the inquiry of Leslie Hope re: children of Richard Gardner
and Sarah Shattuck, I would corrent the information submitted by Violet
Moore Guy to read:
Joseph Gardner married 3/30/1670 Bethia Macy, dau of Thomas Macy;
Richard Gardner b. 1653 married Mary Austin, dau of
Joseph Austin of Dover, New Hampshire;
and 3rd correction is Damaris Gardner rather than
Demarlo. She most likely was named Damaris after her maternal grandmother,
Damaris Shattuck, wife of Samuel Shattuck.
Most of my information stems from research at the DAR Library in
Washington, D.C. and Vital Records (5 volumes) of Nantucket.
I am descended from 4 of Richard Gardner's children
namely: Joseph, Richard, Deborah and Nathaniel.
