I, too, have hit that brick wall concerning my McFarlands.
The only trace of them that, perhaps, I have found as being
my great grandmother's family is on the 1870 Census for
Jackson Twp., Starke Co., IN. Now I know that Starke Co.
isn't that close to Hendricks Co. but I am looking for the
parents of Barbara Ellen and Elizabeth Ann McFarland.
If these are their parents on the 1870 Census, they have two
brothers George W. and Charles M. McFarland. These children
were born in Ohio and the parents William and Nancy______,
McFarland were born in Pennsylvania. Do any of these names
match with yours? Barbara was born in 1838, Elizabeth in
1836, Charles in 1849 and George in 1854.
