Hi Mary and readers of the list,
I, too, am trying to sort out the Quaker Hollingsworths. I know that there
were Quaker Hollingsworths (my husband's ancestors) associated with the Bush
River, Cane Creek (S.C.) and Wrightsborough (GA) monthly meetings
1770's-1800's and that many of them stayed in South Carolina.
There is evidence that a William and a Joseph Hollingsworth moved from Cane
Creek to Miami Monthly Meeting in Ohio in 1809 so this might be an
indication of where your Hollingsworth ancestors came from.
I don't have matches to your Hollingsworth names but if you run into a
Henry, Esther or J. Hollingsworth in the Miami MM around 1820, they are
listed as witnesses to the marriage of my gggrandparents Hiram Bailey and
Rachel Thomas. I would be interested in finding out if they can be linked
to the Joseph Hollingsworth (b. 1738) family in Wrightsborough, Ga.
