Subject: [Q-R] John RICHARDSON, "London", Kent County, Delaware 1684
Date: Wed, 2 Aug 2000 14:13:53 EDT

William Richardson, West River 1660's, I wonder if this William RICHARDSON
could be related to the following John RICHARDSON.

I am looking for further information on John RICHARDSON a Quaker who was
granted land by William Penn in Kent County, Delaware in May of 1684 .*(SEE
NOTE) I do not know where John RICHARDSON came from, nor who his parents
were, nor do I know any dates for him other than May of 1684. The information
that I have about him is as follows:
1) John RICHARDSON died after 1684. Was granted land by Penn.
Had a daughter named Susanna
2) Susanna RICHARDSON (d. before 1694) married William FREELAND (d. after
Feb 23, 1697). Had at least one child: Susanna. She and her husband
lived at their home "London" in Kent County, Delaware until sometime after
their daughter Susanna's birth when they moved to Philadelphia. William
FREELAND married Esther Willcox about 1694.
3) Susanna FREELAND (b. c.1683 at "London" Kent County, DE - d. 30-11-1740
Duck Creek, DE) She married Timothy HANSON 9.9.1704 at the Philadelphia
Monthly Meeting. Witnesses to the marriage were the widow Esther
(Willcox) Freeland James (her stepmother) and Rebeckah FREELAND
(Susanna's sister; her father was William FREELAND, her mother? Either
Susanna RICHARDSON or Esther Wilcox.

The property which belonged to John RICHARDSON and then to his daughter
Susanna and her husband William FREELAND was named, "London".

Since I know next to nothing about John RICHARDSON I have given the above
information in the hope that someone might recognize him through his
descendants. Any information would be greatly appreciated.

NOTE:
*"Kent County, Delaware Deeds, Liber 10, Pages 77-79: Febý 14 - 1709.
Timothy Hanson & Susanna, his wife, daughter of William Freeland, late of
Philadelphia, to Robert Porter, land granted by William Penn May 5 - 1684, to
John Richardson, sold by John Richardson to William Freeland & Susanna, his
wife, who was a daughter of the said John Richardson, and by his will of Febý
23 - 1697, bequeathed by William Freeland to the said Susanna Hanson, his
daughter."

Thanks
