The best source for understanding Quakerism
of the 1600s and early 1700s is a book by
David H. Fischer, _Albion's Seed_, which
was published about a decade ago.
This is by far the most objective account
of the first century of Quakerism, although
it describes Quaker culture and not Quaker
history.
