It would be nice to have a bank debit card. Unfortunately my bank requires PERFECT credit I mean PERFECT, I have one company on my credit that has derogatory credit, a huge medical bill from 1994 and I was denied a debit card. So my bank is very strict about their debit card. Funny how some companies can take one little bad credit information and deny you for a debit card that the money comes out of your own checking account but yet I can buy a house, cars and land and have no problem getting the same interest rates that someone with perfect credit gets. I can get credit cards I am sure, but don't want them as they would be too easy to use. I know been there done that...I cut them all up!! :-)
Charging to the phone bill online is just as safe as using a credit card online. Most places will not ship other than to the address on the billing for the phone or credit card. So if someone tries to puchase with your credit card or phone and it arrives at your house, you send it back. Which I have never had a problem with. If a charge is there and you did not make it, it is as easy as calling the company who charged you, deny the charges and ask that they give you information on the shipping address and that charges will be made against them if they do not give you that information, and charges will be filed against the person who made the purchase. Not sure what phone companies many of you use. But here I have a passcode on my phone, if a charge is being made to it I call the phone company and authorize the charge using the passcode, and no changes can be done to my phone bill of any type without my authorization.

Kristie,
I don't have a credit card either but I do have a debit card. I use it when
ordering online. I can check the Bank phone/computer system to find out when
an item clears. I know to watch the mail for the item as soon as charge
appears on my account. The item usually arrives the same day and no later
than the following day. I would never want anything charged to my phone bill
I have had too many problems in past with unauthorized charges. I have never
had a problem with my Bank and with a debit card it is pay as you go - no
surprises. I guess it all depends on who you trust and how many companies
you want to do business with. With my Bank checking account debit card I
only have one account to keep tabs on.
