Can anyone on the list tell me if the minutes of the various MM's in New
York have been compiled and published?
My Wing and Gorton ancestors were reportedly among the founders of the
first Quaker MM in New York.
My 5th great grandfather, Zebulon Ross, was buried at Friends Graveyard,
Dover, Duchess, New York according to his biography. Also according to his
biography, Zebulon named my 4th great grandfather, Friend Ross, Sr., after
the Friends who assisted he and his wife when they removed to Dover,
Duchess, New York. Friend Ross, Sr., born abt. 1753. Friend Ross, Sr.'s
son, Friend, born July 4, 1776; and Friend Ross, Jr.'s son, Friend Ross,
III, born abt. 1834; Friend Ross, III, my 2nd great grandfather. I have
been trying to determine if my Ross line were ever Quakers. Presumably, if
they were, they attend one of the MM's in New York.
Any assistance appreciated.
