Tom,
I think you are right on this. The original Salem records were in the
vault at the IYM offices in Oskaloosa when I was working on the project to
get them microfilmed a couple of years ago. I think I would have heard if
they had been moved. At that time, the college was not even interested
in having a copy of the microfilm, much less the original records.
There may be a copy of the Hinshaw notes at the William Penn library,
though. I know there is one at the Iowa Historical Library in Des Moines
and another at the Iowa Historical Society Library.
