Thank you, Dan Treadway. Your explanation makes sense of the different papers
carried by Thomas Lonsdale and the places he went. Not being familiar with Quaker
Meeting places in PA, I had no idea where the Falls neighborhood was. So, thanks.
However, I still have no idea where the Marsden Meeting place was in England nor
where (or , IF) their MM minuites or reports may be found. Thomas' two sons, James
and George Lonsdale, in their written requests for Naturalization (1818 & 1819)
stated that they came from Lancaster Co. but I don't know if that meant where they
were born, lived, or their point of embarkation.
In searching English church records, I did find Lonsdales in St. Mary's and
Manchester Catheral in Lancastor; and in Church there, a marriage of a Thomas and a
Mary Lutener (Sukenor?) on 19 September 1792 (about the right date considering the
ages of my Lonsdale's older sons).
However, to be sure I have the right Lonsdale, I think it best to start at that
Marsden Meeting place. Does anyone have suggestons for searching Quaker records in
England?
