James Sanders, who married Phebe Beeson, daughter of Isaac. I have been
searching for information on the children of this couple. If anyone can
steer me in the right direction, I'd appreciate it!

| Beeson, Henry Hart, _Genealogy of the Beeson-Beason Family_, 1969:
|
| #129 Phebe BEESON b. 2-24-1769 m 1-26-1788 James SANDERS son of
| John and Susannah SANDERS and disowned 8-4-1788 at Deep River
| MM (NC) for marrying out. [Phebe was the dtr of Isaac BEESON
| and Phebe STROUD from Hopewell MM to New Garden MM to Deep
| River MM]
|
| Unfortunately this book does not trace Phebe's children further.
|
| Looking at Hinshaw's _Encyclopedia of American Quaker Genealogy_,
| Vol. I:
|
| James Sanders was disowned by Deep River on the same date
| as Phebe (1788,8,4) also for marrying out so it appears that
| he had been a Quaker prior to their marriage so Phebe was not
| disowned for marrying a non-member which would have been my
| first guess. You may want to read the original Deep River
| minutes to see if there are further details relating to the
| disownment. Possibly Phebe had a child born "prematurely" which
| would be reason for disowning both parties.
|
| The children of John and Susannah Sanders are recorded at
| Deep River MM so we also know that their son James Sanders was
| born 12-6-1765 which makes him about the right age for a 1788
| marriage.
|
| I don't see anything to indicate that James or Phebe requested
| that they be reinstated so you will probably not find any of
| their children in the Quaker records unless the children later
| became convinced Quakers as adults.
|
| John Sanders died in 1809 and his wife Susannah in 1800. James
| also had brothers Jesse and Joseph who probably survived to
| become adults. (There were also four other siblings who died before
| 1802.) You might want to look for a will for John Sanders or
| estate distribution to see if it mentions son James and his
| whereabouts and possibly his children. Look also for deeds
| in which any land belonging to John Sanders may have been
| sold or transferred to his heirs.
|
| You might also want to trace the migration of Jesse b 1756
| and Joseph b 1769 Sanders as chances are James and his family
| probably followed his brothers wherever they may have relocated.
| This may be difficult though as I see that a Joseph Sanders was
| also disowned in 1792. There is an entry dated 1806 indicating
| that a Jesse Sanders of Muddy Creek with wife Sarah and daughters
| were granted a certificate to Miami MM, OH. This Jesse is probably
| the one who married Sarah RUDDUCK in 1778 at New Garden.
| Another Jesse was gct New Garden MM in 1813 but he may have
| been the son of Joel and Mary Sanders who left Deep River in
| 1812 for New Garden.
|
| Hinshaw's Vol.V
| Miami MM, Warren Co., OH -
| 1806,6,12 Jesse SAUNDERS & w Sarah & ch: John, Jane, Susannah
| and Jesse rocf Deep River MM, NC dtd 1806,2,3.
|
| From the given names of their children, it pretty well looks
| like this is Jesse, the son of John and Susannah who was the
| brother of your James!
|
| I would first search the land records of Warren Co. to see
| if your James may have obtained land in the county or even
| left a will there which names his children! This may not pan
| out for you, but certainly worth a try.
