Who was your great grandfather living with in the
1850 census? If he was 14 that year, chances are
he was living with his parents. I think you probably
need to back track and verify each step and not
jump ahead and claim a patriot who may or may not
have been a patriot. The SAR and DAR records are
not always correct. In fact many of the DAR records
are not and that is why they are now requiring
applicants to submit all new documentation when
applying now.
