The men's minutes before 1835 and women's minutes before 1825 were
lost in a fire sometime after 1868. The births, deaths, and
marriages appear to be complete. My wife attempted to reconstruct
the missing records by using other sources, mainly transfers of
membership found in the records of other monthly meetings, and a few
bits of information left by a Friend who saw the missing minute books
before they were lost. Of course there is no way of recovering most
of the lost material: disownments, requests to be received into
membership, appointments of elders and overseers, etc. This
reconstruction was published in the Southern Friend, the journal of
the North Carolina Friends Historical Society, and is available for
purchase from them.
