Subject: [Q-R] Research BUSBEY & SHINN in VA and WVA
Date: Mon, 11 Aug 2003 11:55:23 -0500
I will be leaving for VA and WVA this week. I am trying to prove that the
SAMUEL BUSBEY and ESTHER SHINN (Esther was b. in Fredrick, VA, and
dismissed contrary to discipline from the Quaker Church at Hopewell MM in
1813) are the parents of my JOHN HAMILTON BUSBEY, b. June 13, 1814 in VA or
W.VA. I plan to visit
Clarksburg, Shinnston, and possibly Romney. I understand that Samuel was
buried in the Pine Bluff Cemetery and Esther Busbey Shinn, who died in 1823,
is buried in the Shinnston Cemetery.
Can anyone give me any give me information on archives, libraries and/or
historical societies in those areas. Thanks. Edwina
