Thanks so much for this information. I had overlooked how many sisters of
Wm M Macy married Hadleys.

Unfortunately, Wm Macy Hadley appears to have died at about the same time
that his uncle, Wm M Macy, and family arrived in Oregon. If he is the ONLY
Wm Macy Hadley who lived in the area, his letters to the Mooresville
newspapers will not tell us much about the life of William M Macy and Julia
Ann (Mills) Macy in Oregon. They could provide us with information which
might clarify the reason this couple went to Oregon. That is also an
important part of the family's story.
