Shari,
I can tell you what I have done. I purchased the Family Tree Maker CD
#192 (the Hinshaw books), and then did a word global search for the name.
This gave me a complete list of every entry for that name.
I then opened each page where that name appeared and prepared a
spreadsheet list of the location and date.
This gave me the migration path for the name, which in my case, I found
755 entries.
It did take me a few hours to research each entry and record it in a
spreadsheet.
But, when I was done, I sequenced the list by date and found both the
dates and locations.
I was also fortunate, in that our family attended meetings from the
early 1700s.
