There were Quaker weekly magazines of the time, which included obituaries with that sort of information. The Friend and Friends Intelligencer were two of these. In the late 19th Century, there was one for Hicksite Friends and one for the Orthodox.

Check with a Quaker library.

Subject: [Q-R] are there records of Funerals in Richmond Indiana Quakerchurch

Hello
Were Funerals recorded in Quaker church books? I just received an artical
that my Great Great Grandfather Horcace Stratton remains would be Taken
from Peru Indiana Back to his home town of Richmond Indiana and a short
service would be held in the Quaker church. the artical was dated April
24 1899. His father was Benjamin Stratton and they belonged to the
Hicksite Quakers.. Would there be any records from that church in
Richmond that told of this service that a someone could search for .
