Hi Leslie,
The immigrant William<1> Gifford settled in Sandwich, Mass. on Cape
Cod. Many of the
Cape Giffords have been Quaker and there were several marriages with the
families of
Nantucket. You might find interesting the book by A.L. Bowerman "A
Bowerman Family
History, Some Descendants of Thomas Boreman (c.1623-1663) of Barnstable,
New Plymouth
Colony, with allied Families: Bowman, Clifton, Gifford, Hoag & Wing"
Gateway Press,
Baltimore, MD, 1998.
