Thank you for writing Rita. Yes the website is coming along well, and
developing very quickly. Only went live in January.
The only connections the Qualtroughs have at this point that I have found is
with a family in Liverpool when the name changed about the 1850s and over 3
generations it went from Qualtrough (from IOM) to
Qualtrough/Qualters/Qualter and then finally to Qualter. See chart 15 and
chart 18 in the book A QUOTA OF QUALTROUGHS on the website
While I have no direct involvement in Qualter/Qualters and definitely at
this point haven't found any connection with Ireland, you would think that
the close proximity would not preclude such a possibility.
Of course the Manx and Irish mix closely in Liverpool, so any change there
is understandable. But I haven't found any direct evidence of Qualtroughs
going to Ireland from the IOM. That is not to say that they didn't however.
