A friend of mine from Colorado who has been so much help to me, has asked my
assistance to find websites where she may go to find out about one of her
ancestors. As I have not done any research in Quebec, unfortunately I am
unable to suggest anything. She checked a North Dakota census which said
that the children 3 of the children were born in Ontario, but I checked all
the birth records up until the left Canada and there was no match. She just
went through another census and it has the birthplace of at least one of the
children as Quebec, and the others as Canada.
This is the information on the family that she had to begin with. Obviously
the place of occurrence is wrong as there are no records on them.

Name: Thomas O'Donnell
DOB: August 1852 in Ontario, Canada
Parents: unknown - from Ireland
Occupation: probably railroad worker
Immigration: 1882 to North Dakota
Wife's Name: Alice (maiden name unknown, she's about 5 years younger than
him, born in Ontario)
Children's names:
William born in Ontario about 1875
John James born in Ontario in May 1876
Jennie born in Ontario about 1879
Thomas born in Ontario in 1881
Lawrence born in North Dakota in 1883

At this point she is hoping to locate something in Quebec and she would like
to know if there is a website with the 1871 census on line. Could you
advise me what direction or sites she might be wise to follow.

I would appreciate any little thing someone could tell me. Thank you.

Linda
Ontario.
