My mother knows all about that fractured vertabrae. She fell a year ago and
fractured a vertabrae and she was in so much pain she couldn't even roll
over and it got to the point where she could barely walk. She had surgery
to correct it. She went in on a Thursday morning and came home Friday
morning pain free and the vertabrae repaired. She was the first person in
the State of Florida to have this technique done. The doctor inserted a
needle with a balloon into the area and blew up the balloon which pushed the
vertabrae back together and then they filled the area with cement. End of
pain , end of fracture. It has been almost a year now and she has never had
any problem. It is amazing what can be done today to repair small things
with big pain issues.

Hi all,
I'm home. Got back to Connecticut about an hour ago. Dad was discharged on
Monday -- a surprise to us all. He made fantastic progress. On Friday
evening he looked horrible and had no appetite, but very little pain. The
"halo" the doctors put on him to stabilize his spine (7th cervical vertabrae
is fractured) did wonders to eliminate the pain. Mom has a home health aide
coming in a couple days a week to help out. Dad has very little trouble
getting up and around by himself -- a stubborn French-Canadian if there ever
was one. He just has to be careful about bumping into things with his
"antenna".
I want to thank EVERYONE for their prayers -- God does answer them.
